This procedure is for the cache of scans made from T Loc H materials which were on the shelves pre-pandemic, as well as materials adding during the pandemic. The date range of these materials is roughly October 2019 - July 2021. These scans are available to any cataloger in need of work-from-home tasks, and should be processed using the steps below.

1. Access scans

  • Scans are stored in the shared Google Drive folder: T Loc H - Scans (MSUL TS telecommuting) - Google Drive

  • Folders of scans are named “T Loc H Truck 1”, etc.

  • Create a folder with your name (if you don’t have one already).

  • Move desired scans into your folder.

    • Work in chronological order – i.e., pull from the earliest truck # folder available, and make sure that folder is cleared out before moving to the next.

2. Catalog

Info

Individual catalogers will need to maintain a list of all T Loc H titles cataloged for follow-up processing.

  • Follow usual cataloging procedures.

  • For problem items (i.e., uncertainty about dates, needs further inspection, etc.), export regardless and then suppress.

  • Keep track of bib numbers and associated truck numbers (Truck 1, Truck 2, etc.) for each cataloged title.

    • It will may be helpful, in whatever way makes most sense to you, to note which titles are ready to be sent forward, and which are problems requiring further work.

  • Delete scan from folder.

Note

These materials should have only Sierra order records, but if catalogers encounter the odd FOLIO order record, remember to use these procedures to connect the Sierra bib with the FOLIO instance.

  • When in the building, catalogers should use their list to pull cataloged titles from the T Loc H shelves (still the same location)

    • All scanned books are grouped and the shelves

    , which
    • are labeled by truck number.

  • Correct any problem records at this point and unsuppress.

  • Write in call numbers and put on processing trucks as usual.
