Summary: These procedures deal with cataloging of spoken-word sound recordings.
Spoken word audio (sound) discs are cataloged on the Sound Recordings workform
Type i , Non-musical sound recordings.
Back to top ignore broken link warnings -- these are "back to top" links that will function normally when the page is created
300 field uses the term audio disc (e.g., 6 audio discs)
500 or a 538 field with the type of disc. The most common term will be Compact disc.
For multi-disc sets, include an 866 _0 field. (e.g., disc 1-disc 6).
If each disc is in a separate case, the volume field for each item record would read: disc 1, disc 2, etc. If all six discs are in the same case, the volume field would read: discs 1-6.
If possible, leave the audio discs in their original packaging. Attach a yellow stickie with the location, call number, and number of discs (if more than one) and put on the non-print labeling shelf in Catalog Maintenance.

FINAL STEPS BEFORE COMPLETING PAGE
1. Add an email link to your name. Highlight the text of your name, select the linking button on the command bar above, choose "web link" and enter: mailto:youremail@lib.msu.edu
2. Place your page in the right hierarchy. Click the page tree icon on the top left, and in the box for "new parent page" enter the name of the existing page that this page should be filed under. For example, any cataloging procedures would have CATALOGING as the parent page.
3. Add labels to your page by clicking the label icon on the top left. You can see a full list of available labels on the Find by label page.
