Project summary/background

Some of the records in the HathiTrust record load came from Spanish library sources, so all the subjects & names were in Spanish. This mini-project identifies the names of Popes that need to be changed to the English form of name.

Project instructions

• Open the spreadsheet “Popes in Spanish” https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/16sRLDMarQa4heqVeUzpvY6xqIwJg_ms4AXDUARnaH4Q/edit?usp=sharing

• Put your initials after some of the names in the Initials column. This will prevent multiple people from editing the same field in the same record at the same time.

• In Sierra, search the name in the first column (Spanish form of name)

• Replace that name with the form of name found in the second column (LCNAF form of name)

• Save the bib record.

• Rinse and repeat!
