Editing a bib in QuickMARC

Most of the time, an instance record in Inventory will have an underlying MARC record. In such cases, any edits to the Instance will have to be made to the underlying source MARC data. To do so, you can use the QuickMARC app.

  • In the Instance pane, use the Actions dropdown and click on "edit in quickMARC"

  • Add fields using the + icon

  • Delete fields using the trash can icon

  • Move fields up and down with the arrow icons on the left

  • Note that blank fixed field values and blank indicators use the character "\" (forward slash) in the quickMARC interface

  • Subfields use the dollar sign: $

  • Leading subfield a's ($a) are not assumed: they must be entered

See more quickMARC editing tips on the FOLIO project wiki, here.
