Summary: This FOLIO procedure shows the process used to make FOLIO instructions on how to update miscellaneous holdings and item field changes (ex. locations, or item statistical codes, or loan types ) using Bulk Edit.

Save

File as a

CSV file and then Run it through Bulk Edit

  • Either scan Scan barcodes with the Opticon scanner and then save barcodes into as a .csv file or get barcodes . Barcodes can be pulled from Sierra if as long as that is still possible and then save as a csv file.
  • Image AddedSave the file as a csv tile but name the file according to the job you are doing. Example of a new book file name: Friday-01022023.csv
  • Save file files where you know you can get to it find them such as Desktop, or O:\CatMan Files.
  • In From the Bulk edit tab, set criteria as “Identifier” , > Record types “Inventory-items” and > Record identifier as “Item barcode”.

Ready to Run File

  • Drag and drop the CSV barcode file into the drag-and-drop area.

  • Select “Start bulk edit” under the Actions menu.

Bulk Edit Step 3

Select Record Edits

  • Once in Bulk edit:
    • Item temporary location
    • Item permanent location
    • Item status
    • Temporary loan type (verify which loan type is being changed (temporary or permanent).
    • Permanent loan type
    • Under Options dropdown select option needing change:
  • Click the plus + sign to add additional changes.

To Changes Locations only

  • Click If this is an additional change, click the plus + sign to add additional changesthe change.
  • Under Select location, choose which location the books are going to.
  • Under Actions select field.
  • Below are steps to change locations location only, select “Replace with”.
  • Under Select the location, choose the location.
  • Possible Item Status options:
  • If successful, there should be a message in green that shows “x records have been successfully changed”
  • Click “Confirm changes”
  • A window will pop up with “Are you sure?” and will list the changes that will be made. If everything looks ok, click “Commit changes”.
