Use copies for expensive orders
When inputting order records for VHS, DVD, CD or other media format, add the following note for prices of $300 and over: “Give to John Shaw to make use copy”
Use “r-action=a” with this note.
A note is needed for the receiver to flag the piece so John Shaw is aware that a use copy is needed.
Performance rights for video purchases
- When inputting order records for VHS, DVD or other format for video, include information regarding performance rights in the order record.
- Performance rights are automatically purchased from the following set of vendors:
- Bullfrog
- Filmakers Library
- New Yorker Films
- Insight Media
- Films for the Humanities and Science
- Films Media Group
- California Newsreel
- Women Make Movies
- When one of these vendors is used for a film purchase, use “r-action = a" and enter this note: “Purchased with performance rights from _(fill in the blank)_”
- If the vendor is not on this list, but the selector has included performance rights information on the order, transfer the written note into the order note field & use “r-action = a".
- A note is needed for the receiver to flag the piece & have performance rights information added to the item record at the cataloging step.
