LC classification for maps: US states

Summary: This page links to a map of the United States, labeled with the starting number of the 5-number geographic classification range for each U.S. state, from class G in the Library of Congress classification schedule, and provides an example of the LC pattern used when classifying maps of U.S. states and their subdivisions.

Michigan is labeled 4110 on the map. This means the following range of five numbers is used when creating LC call numbers for maps of Michigan and its subdivisions:
