Summary: These procedures apply to the cataloging of supplementary print or nonprint materials that accompany a primary resource (example: a book about folk songs and an accompanying CD with example recordings).

Policies & decisions

A resource is considered supplementary if it cannot be intellectually independent of the primary piece.

Resources that reproduce the entire content of a resource in a different form are not considered supplementary.

If uncertain, consult Joshua Barton or Autumn Faulkner.
