Project summary/background
A small set of purchased e-books came with records from the vendor, which aren’t very high-quality. Better copy for these exists in WorldCat. Copy catalogers need to identify the better copy and bring it into Sierra.
Project instructions
Open this spreadsheet and add your initials to the next available title
Search Connexion for matching copy; use the provided link to the resource to verify details like title, author, edition, etc.
Along with the other signs of a good quality record (subjects, ELvl of blank or I, lots of holdings, etc.), look for these typical elements for e-resources:
If these are present and everything else looks good, you can feel confident about using the record. (These will also be compiled in a review file for a last round of edits from me, so I can double-check them as well.)
Add Online to the end of the call number
Example: SF992.C37 ǂb .B73 2010 Online
Delete all existing 856s, and insert this one instead:
856 40 ǂz Connect to online resource - MSU authorized users ǂu http://ezproxy.msu.edu/login?url=[provided URL from spreadsheet]

Attach holdings and export to Sierra, using this 949 string with your initials:
i = /loc=wb/w=copcopyemo$xxx
Enter the bib number for the new record into the spreadsheet
If you are unable to complete copy cataloging for any title, mark as such on the spreadsheet and Autumn will investigate/consult as needed.
This project is for copy catalogers and possibly original catalogers.
