Policies
- No subject authority checking is required by copy catalogers. Original catalogers use their discretion.
- Every subject used as an AAP should have a corresponding LCSH authority record in the catalog OR the subject string should correspond to an LCSH authority record and contain valid free-floating subdivisions OR be a locally-established subject.
- Local subjects may be used with approval of the Head of Cataloging, and will require the creation of a local authority record.
