Changes to “Restricted” item status and “Non-Circulating” loan type, new “Online Access” loan type (February 2026)

  • Officially implemented Feb 23, 2026

  • All changes reflected here: Location chart

  • Restricted status should not be used in most cases; use “Available” instead

  • “Non-Circulating” loan type has been changed to “Library Use Only”

  • “Online Access” loan type has been created for electronic resources

    • Legacy records will be updated in batches in the coming weeks

Moving item records between instances (September 2025)

  • Any item record being moved from one instance to another must be assigned the INN-Reach: NOMel statistical code before being moved.

    • Remove the stat code after the item record has been moved.

  • More details here: Moving items in Folio Inventory

  • This is a necessary workaround at present to ensure MelCat functionality on the public catalog side. An eventual fix to this issue is expected; stay tuned!
