Routing of journal issues

Summary: Information about the retired practice of routing issues of journals to library staff.

A journal issue may be routed to staff if:
- The title is not destined for the Periodicals Reading Room vertical file.
- Exceptions: If the vertical file received two copies, one will be routed. "Choice" will be routed even though it is a vertical file title.
- The title does not need to be cataloged (added and bar coded upon receipt) after it arrives.
- Routing is meant to accommodate current issues of journals, not annuals, etc.
- The title is not destined for Special Collections.
Any title can be routed to Turfgrass for inclusion in their database, regardless of location.
Note: As of June 2018, some titles are still routed as part of historical routine, but in general this work is unsustainable in Sierra, and is being gradually phased out.
