International Gov Docs label/barcode (obsolete)

Summary: Procedure describing the labeling, barcoding, and processing of international government documents.


This procedure was archived in 2023 and is obsolete. The information below is retained for historic value. It is not reviewed or updated.

Labeling

  • paperbacks will be pulled and sent to Binding Prep if they fit the criteria used for Main paperbacks
  • labels printed and applied as usual
  • date dues and ownership stamp affixed as usual

Quality control/bar coding

  • quality control steps will be done as usual to verify location, cat date, etc. and including verifying the presence of the red Int'l sticker on the front and the location gdidc
  • bar code on the back, with shield in the usual location
  • red shield will be placed over the call number label

Final processing

  • Int'l documents will be separated on the trucks like a branch, the pieces will not go on the New Book shelves
  • usual checking done, then pieces moved to Government Documents shelves in the aisle
